Share Draft Accounts
With Winthrop Area FCU share draft (checking) accounts there are no restrictions on the number of checks you can write per statement cycle, no minimum balance fees and only a $2.00 per month service charge. (Please note: The $2.00 service charge will be waived if member enrolls for Online Banking/Mobile Banking, e-Statements and a Visa Debit Card at account opening.)
Each checking account is automatically linked to your share (savings) account. This means that in the event of an overdraft, the money will automatically transfer from your savings account to your checking account. This service is provided up to six times per month at no charge.
In addition, we offer overdraft protection of up to $300.00 through our Member Overdraft Privilege Program. Member Overdraft Privilege is a non-contractual courtesy that is available to individually/jointly owned accounts in good standing for personal or business use.
ATM Card
You can use your Winthrop Area FCU ATM card to get cash from your Share (savings) or Checking account at thousands of locations throughout the United States. Within seconds, you can also perform a balance inquiry to determine the balance in your account. Remember, the balance will not reflect checks that are outstanding and may not reflect deposits made to your account the day of your inquiry.
Visa Debit Card
The Visa® Debit Card from Winthrop Area FCU works like a check wherever you see the Visa Debit Card logo. When you use the card as a check, you can make purchases around the world and have the amount deducted from your Winthrop Area FCU checking account.
Visa Purchase Alerts: To access information about Visa Purchase Alerts, Visa Cardholders can visit visa.com/purchasealerts. Beginning September 27, 2016, cardholders will also be able to enroll in the service through the website.
